It’s all Oak to me. Are you looking for a uniform grain or a more pronounced grain with knots and imperfections? The species of wood you choose can enhance the theme of your home’s interior, as well as add to your home's value. The warm rustic look of oak lends itself to a more casual environment, while a Brazilian cherry or mahogany enhances a more traditional, elegant color scheme.

In our showroom we have a wide variety of wood species as well as knowledgeable salespeople who can assist you in choosing the best species of wood for your particular home. Because each type of wood has a different hardness rating, you will want to choose a wood that has a rating that best matches your lifestyle.

Janka Hardness is a (hardness test) which measures the pounds of force it takes to drive a .44" diameter steel ball 1/2 inch (depth) into wood. The higher the number, the harder the wood. For example, yellow pine, a relatively soft wood has a rating of 690, while Brazilian cherry, a very hard wood, has a rating of 2350.

If you have small children or pets or anticipate frequently rearranging furniture, you will probably want to choose a species of wood with a higher rating.
